About Spkr

Spkr is an application developed by No Friction Labs that converts written and digital content into private, podcast-style audio episodes. Users save articles, newsletters, emails, documents, PDFs, X threads, and AI chat outputs through a Chrome extension, mobile share sheet, pasted URL or text, or a direct AI agent connection via MCP. Spkr then transforms this saved content into narrated episodes that can be played in the Spkr app or in third-party podcast players such as Apple Podcasts, Overcast, or Pocket Casts.

The platform offers multiple listening formats for the same source material, including full-article narration, key-point summaries, plain-English explanations, guided walkthroughs, and devil's-advocate style takes. Users can move between reading and listening, track progress, and return to the original source at any time. Content is organized into a personal queue and feed that updates as new items are captured and processed.

Spkr serves professionals, researchers, news readers, and anyone with a backlog of reading material who prefers to consume content audibly during commutes, workouts, chores, or other moments away from a screen. It is built for individual users rather than teams or enterprises. The app is available on iPhone and Mac, with subscription tiers offering different levels of access to conversion and narration features.
