About Scottish Podcast Awards
The Scottish Podcast Awards is an annual awards ceremony dedicated to celebrating and elevating the talent, creativity, and diversity of Scotland's podcasting and audio community. Scotland's first dedicated national awards for podcasting, the ceremony was founded by Sixty Steps Productions and is part of a broader mission to spotlight Scottish creative industries. The inaugural 2026 awards were held at the Old Fruitmarket in Glasgow on June 25, 2026, drawing over 400 entries across more than 20 categories.
The awards are open to Scottish-based creators and international entries that engage with Scottish audiences or culture. In partnership with Spotify, entry is free. An independent judging panel of approximately 50 media professionals and industry experts assesses entries across criteria including creativity, production quality, storytelling, cultural impact, and innovation. A Spotify Listeners' Choice Award is determined by public vote.
The 2026 inaugural ceremony saw The Ford & Shelby Show named Podcast of the Year, with Open Goal taking both the Spotify Listeners' Choice Award and Best Football Podcast. The awards are expected to become an annual fixture for Scotland's growing podcast ecosystem, which — according to Ofcom — has the highest weekly podcast listenership of any UK nation.
