International Podcast Day

International Podcast Day is an annual global celebration held on September 30th that recognizes and promotes the medium of podcasting. It began as National Podcast Day in 2014 and was rebranded in 2015 to International Podcast Day to reflect the worldwide growth of podcasting audiences and creators.

The organization coordinates activities such as live-streamed events, social media campaigns using the hashtag #InternationalPodcastDay, and downloadable promotional materials including banners, audio promos, and video promos. Between 2015 and 2022, it live streamed over 200 hours of content featuring 360 podcasters from nearly 100 countries, including Australia, Germany, South Africa, India, Canada, and the United States.

International Podcast Day serves podcasters, podcast listeners, and industry professionals by providing a shared occasion to promote shows, discover new content, and connect with the broader podcasting community. It encourages participants to host meetups, share favorite podcasts, launch new shows, leave reviews, and engage with promotional content on their own platforms. The organization does not sell products or services but functions as a community-driven awareness campaign supported by volunteers and partner organizations within the podcasting industry.
