About Public Radio Exchange

PRX (Public Radio Exchange) is a non-profit media company that produces, distributes, and supports audio journalism and storytelling for public radio stations, podcast networks, and independent producers. It operates an award-winning portfolio of programs, including The World, This American Life, Reveal, The Moth, and Snap Judgment, alongside podcast-first productions from the Radiotopia network such as 99% Invisible, Ear Hustle, and Criminal. The organization reaches tens of millions of listeners monthly through broadcast and podcast channels.

In addition to content production, PRX builds technology tools for the podcast industry, including Dovetail, a podcast publishing and monetization platform used by producers to distribute, grow, and earn revenue from their shows. It also operates PRX Remix, a curated stream and weekly program of short-form stories and documentaries offered to public radio stations for broadcast, HD radio, or web streaming.

Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Boston with additional offices in Minneapolis and New York, PRX merged with Public Radio International (PRI) in 2018, expanding its programming into international and cultural reporting. The company partners with hundreds of public radio stations and thousands of independent producers worldwide. Since 2016, PRX has also run a training program that helps journalists and storytellers develop skills for podcast production and distribution, serving public media organizations, independent creators, and stations seeking to expand their audio offerings.
