Nomono

Nomono is a Norway-based company that makes hardware and software for recording and producing podcasts and other spoken-audio content. Founded in 2019 in Trondheim as a spinoff from the research institute SINTEF, it develops portable recording devices paired with an AI-powered cloud editing platform. The company serves podcasters, journalists, agencies, brands, and media teams who need studio-quality audio outside a traditional studio.

Its hardware lineup includes the Sound Capsule, a standalone multi-mic recorder for up to four people that records each voice to its own track without needing a phone or laptop, and the Stellar Kit, a clip-on microphone system for one or two speakers that syncs recordings to the cloud via a phone. Captured audio is automatically uploaded to Nomono's Studio Cloud, a browser-based platform where users can enhance, edit, transcribe, and export finished episodes.

Nomono Studio offers one-click AI enhancement for noise removal and voice leveling, a timeline editor for trimming and arranging audio with music, multilingual transcription with speaker labels, and export of broadcast-ready files for distribution. The company positions its approach around capturing clean, high-quality audio at the point of recording rather than relying solely on post-production fixes. Nomono is headquartered in Trondheim, Norway, with additional offices in Oslo and New York City, and its products are used by independent podcast creators, agencies, and larger organizations producing interview and conversation-based shows.
