Futuro Studios

Futuro Studios is the creative and original programming division of Futuro Media, a Latina-led independent nonprofit newsroom. The studio produces narrative podcasts and audio documentaries that center Latino, Latina, Black, Indigenous, and immigrant experiences, combining innovative audiocraft with rigorous journalism.

Its catalog includes Pulitzer Prize-winning "Suave," "Anything for Selena," "LOUD: The History of Reggaeton," "My Divo," "La Brega," "IDOLO," and "Ídolo: The Ballad of Chalino Sánchez." Productions are often released bilingually in English and Spanish and have topped podcast charts in the United States and Mexico. The studio's work has received recognition including the Pulitzer Prize, the International Documentary Association Award, and placement on best-of-year lists from outlets such as The New York Times, The Atlantic, and The New Yorker.

Futuro Studios partners with networks, platforms, and independent journalists, including collaborations with WNYC Studios, Apple Podcasts, and Sonoro, to co-produce long-form audio series. It serves listeners seeking culturally specific storytelling as well as media companies and journalists looking to co-develop narrative podcasts. The studio operates within Futuro Media Group alongside Latino USA and Futuro Investigates, and is led by an editorial team including Executive Editor Maria Garcia and Head of Podcasts Marlon Bishop.
